FAQ
What kind of issues can I help you with?
I work with adults and young adults who experience psychological challenges such as anxiety, low mood, burnout, stress, insecurity, or relationship problems.
My approach is analytical and solution-focused, using evidence-based methods.
You do not need a referral or diagnosis to get in touch.
Do you treat all levels of severity or complexity?
Because I work independently and cannot prescribe medication or provide crisis care, my practice focuses on mild to moderate psychological problems.
If your situation requires more intensive or specialized treatment — for example, severe psychiatric disorders, long-term depression, or complex personality problems — I will refer you to an appropriate colleague or mental health institution.
This ensures that you receive the right level of care and support.
How does insurance coverage work?
My treatments are part of the Dutch mental health care system (GGZ) and can be (partly) reimbursed by your health insurer.
However, my practice is non-contracted, meaning I do not have agreements with insurance companies.
Most insurers reimburse between 50% and 90% of the costs.
I strongly recommend contacting your insurance company beforehand to ask what percentage they reimburse for an uncontracted GZ-psychologist.
I use the official rates set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa).
You can find an overview of these rates here:

Can I choose a private (self-funded) therapy option?
Yes, you can.
A private therapy route means that sessions are paid for directly, without involving your health insurance.
Some clients prefer this option because:
No medical data is shared with insurers
There is greater flexibility in the type and focus of therapy
Administrative requirements are minimal
Private session fees are slightly lower than insurance-based rates.

What does the process look like, step by step?
1. Pre-intake (15–30 minutes)
After your initial contact, we schedule a short phone call to discuss what you are looking for in therapy, what your goals are, and whether my practice is the right fit for you.
2. Intake session
If we agree that it’s a good match, we plan an intake session to discuss your situation in more detail and review practical and financial matters.
3. Advice session and treatment plan
After the intake, we’ll have an advice session to decide on the next steps and outline a treatment plan together.
You always have an active role in this process — you are the expert on your own life.
If another form of care is more suitable, I will clearly advise and guide you toward appropriate support.
4. Treatment
Treatment starts only after you agree with the plan.
Most therapy trajectories last 6 to 12 sessions, depending on your goals and progress.
We will evaluate the process together and adjust when necessary.
How can you register for therapy?
You can register through the contact form on my website.
Please include your name, email address, phone number, and a short description of what you would like to work on.
I will then contact you to schedule the pre-intake call.
